known to some as Chaos Brian—is an attorney with Mockingbird Legal, where he represents children and families in court-appointed cases involving juvenile dependency and related matters. He is committed to providing high-quality, empathetic, and client-centered legal representation, particularly to those navigating some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
Before focusing on juvenile and family law, Brian worked extensively in immigration law. He supported asylum seekers, families pursuing lawful status, and individuals facing removal proceedings. His work included legal research, drafting motions and briefs, and preparing clients for interviews and hearings before immigration authorities.
Brian’s diverse background—as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mongolia, wildland firefighter in the Pacific Northwest, and Mandarin linguist in the U.S. military—gives him a unique perspective on advocacy, communication, and resilience. He earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and is driven by a deep belief in the role of legal advocacy in keeping families whole.
Outside of the courtroom, Brian enjoys foraging for mushrooms, snowboarding, paddleboarding, going to live shows, and brushing up on his language skills.

Ricky was inducted into the Roadrunner Society, and into CSUB's Student Leadership Hall of Fame, which is a very prestigious award reserved for only 20 students. When not in the office, she’s a PTA President in the local community and her husband coaches a local high school baseball team, so you can find her at the ball field, or helping at the Elks lodge. But for fun, she loves going to the beach, sometimes wine tasting, and camping. But most of all, her favorite thing to do is Karaoke!

Our Operations Manager comes with two decades of operational leadership and a heart of service. Holly ensures our team and clients receive unparalleled support. Her time in both boutique and large office environments gives her a wide range of experience with process improvement, training, leadership, and advocacy. Her commitment to streamlining efficiencies will give our legal team more time to focus on our amazing clients.
In addition to her operations work, she has been a foster parent in Clackamas County since 2018 helping guide our teens to advocate and thrive while launching into adulthood. This experience helped her learn how much passion she has for helping families affected by the foster care system. She spent a large amount of these years teaching the kids in her home as well as their parents how to work through the DHS system.
In keeping with her passion for helping these families, she reached out to Rebecca for guidance in how she could help more families in our area. Rebecca guided her into becoming a Defense Case Manager for Clackamas County. In this role she partners with Attorneys to help their clients work through this very scary and complicated system and get through to the other side successfully, whatever that looks like for them. This role allows Holly to use both her passion for helping families, and her drive for fierce advocacy to do what is right and combine them into one role.
In her very limited off time, she loves spending time with her large family and her 2 huskies, Oakley and Kiera, as well as our office cat that she now claims. She is excited to contribute to the team’s mission and support our clients.

Nancy is a native Oregonian, born in Portland and raised near Milwaukie. She graduated from Clackamas High School and went on to attend Lewis and Clark College. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Western Oregon University and various school administrative credentials from Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College.
After graduating from Lewis and Clark with a major in Elementary Education, Nancy was hired as a 6th grade teacher in the Redmond, Oregon, school district. During her 15 years with Redmond, she taught 5th and 6th grades, special education for grades 5 through 8, and reading and math to talented and gifted students in grades 3 through 6. The second half of her career in public education was spent in administration. She was the principal at St Mary’s Public School in the Mt. Angel School District, at Merrill and Malin Elementary Schools in the Klamath County School District, and at Garibaldi and Nehalem Elementary Schools in the Neah Kah Nie School District in northern Tillamook County. She finished her public education career as the as the district-level administrator for special education, talented and gifted, and English language learner programs in Neah Kah Nie.
After retiring, Nancy moved back to Clackamas County. She began volunteering with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program as a way to continue working with and serving children. After several years as a CASA, she was dismayed to learn that there were no foster placements available for one of her “CASA kids,” a teen-aged boy, so she “retired” as a CASA in order to become his foster parent. Nancy is proud of her foster son. He graduated high school, is working, and is living independently.
While attending Lewis and Clark College, Nancy participated in their Overseas Study Program, spending a semester in Japan. She made lifelong friends there, and has made 5 or 6 trips back over the years. Most recently, she spent a month in Japan in October, 2019. She has also enjoyed travelling in the western states, as well as to Mexico, Canada, the Mediterranean area, Great Britain, and Norway. She looks forward to travelling more in the future. Other pastimes Nancy enjoys include camping, reading, gardening, cooking, knitting, and playing with her recently-adopted 11-year-old Golden Retriever rescue.
